3.92 gear should be easy to get from the aftermarket- stick to Just Differentials (Nitro Gear) or Yukon Gear. Do you have the 8.25" or 9.25" rear axle?

8.25" is oval cover, 9.25" is hexagonal cover.

Sorry this doesn't have much to do with your post but maybe you can help me. I am wondering where you might find the gear ratio other than a tab on the differential bolts? Just blew out my ring and pinion gears. Found a small tab with 3 9 and then another tab with some numbers that was so rusted I cant even make it out. Would you guess that would make mine a 3.92? I don't mean to bother but I am pretty new to all of this. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

Almost every ring gear I have looked over has it stamped into the outside finished side of the ring. You can also count the teeth on the ring gear and divide it by the number of teeth on the pinion.

Thank you for your help. I have yet to take off the cover to look at the damage.

Check if there is a sticker inside your glove box with it. You can also call up a dealer and give them your VIN. There is a build sheet generator link stickied up top, but that's for 98' and newer, so call the dealer.

Sometimes it will be on the option sticker. The ring gear does have the numbers stamped in most cases. If not, you can mark one tooth then count them by rotating the gear.

There are plenty listed near in GA. Not sure where you are or 2 or 4wd.
Other years will also fit, as will the 8 1/4 or 9 1/4" but you may need to change your driveshaft. Any good boneyard will have an interchange manual.
