Okay so I got the old control out. I've located the control module (under the hood) but can't find the fuse... new to the forum and been working on this dodge for about a year now. So I'm still figuring her out...
So, what are you trying to do? Need a wee bit more info. Like, what year, what engine, what transmission, what’s going on, why is the cruise control out, etc. Pretend like we know nothing about what you are talking about. Which means we don’t know what you are talking about.

fair enough. Ok. 99 dakota, 5.2 v8. Ext, cab. Tranny I'd have to look again. And I checked the fuse box, and all seem to be good. No indicators come up when I try to use the cruise control. I checked the brake where lines come In and I have my rubber stop still, so the truck doesn't think the brake in engaged. So idk. Could it just be a control switch?
In a perfect world, that would rule out the clockspring ribbon.
I would consider it unlikely that the wires from the clockspring to the PCM have failed. From experience, I would consider it more likely that a bias resistor in the contact pads has failed or that the clockspring ribbon has failed.
