And what would the balancing/ flexplate have to do with the injectors?

Nothing really. On the 95 and older 5.9's though, the balance weights for the engine were on the torque converter, in 96, the weights moved to the flexplate. If you still have the 94 flexplate in there, the engine is going to be out of balance, and that can cause some interesting issues. (mystery vibrations you simply can't get rid of..... can lead to broken parts if you let it go too long.)

The codes you are getting are for injector circuit malfunctions. Since only one of those is on a cylinder you added for wiring...... First, verify that you have the injectors plugged in in the correct sequence. (sequential port injection after all, it is IMPORTANT that the injector fires at the correct time......) If that's good, swap the injectors in question with the injectors for 2 and 4. See if your codes move with the injectors or not.

Hey you thanks for replying ok I know I need the flex plate then the 94 one is still in there haven’t drove the truck just fired it up a few times shouldn’t be no damage right? And the injector codes I’m at a loss I tried 3 different sets of injectors I wired up 8just like 7 ran the color wire to the pcm and tapped into the drk grn and orange wire no matter how i wire it I keep getting them codes for 6 and 8 injectors I read that a broken valve spring could cause these codes? Only two codes are the ones I posted i checked the harness no splices or broken wires inside truck didnt have these codes before the swap same harness to

Thanks HeyYou for covering for me while I was busy today. Yes the flexplate being out of balance will cause some crazy vibrations. I am surprised it even bolts up to the converter, 3 of the 4 bolts should have gone and the fourth should have needed a half-hole of grinding for the bolt to go in. But yes, at some point you'll need to get 97+ 5.9 flexplate with the lead weights on it. You can see the tack welds even on the engine side (5:30, 7:30, 8:30 positions in photo below).

If you have swapped injectors, than I would be looking at the connections at the PCM. Something is making the PCM think that there is a fault on those 2 injector lines.

Since #6 goes to C2P12 and #8 goes to C2P13, I am guessing that when you pushed the connector in for injector 8, you disrupted pin 6 and the latching lattice did not capture either of them, and the wires have pushed back in the connector.

P0206:
Injector #6 Control Circuit
Injector #6 output driver stage does not respond properly to the control signal.

P0208:
Injector #8 Control Circuit
Injector #8 output driver stage does not respond properly to the control signal.

Injector 1:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 110
White / Dark Blue to C2P4

Injector 2:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 106
Tan to C2P15

Injector 3:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 110
Yellow / White to C2P5

Injector 4:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 106
Light Blue / Brown to C2P16

Injector 5:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 110
Gray to C2P6

Injector 6:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 106
Brown / Dark Blue to C2P12

Injector 7:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 110
Violet to C2P2

Injector 8:
Dark Green / Orange from Splice 106
Gray / Light Blue to C2P13

Thanks magnet head I started pulling the trans tonight until the power went out lol and I’ll check the connector pins that makes sense didn’t think to check back there and since the trans has to come out now I’m getting rid of the 42re would the 44re out a 98 318 work in the 03? Or would I be better off just getting a 46re?

Any of the 3 trans, 42/44/46 will do fine for the swap, I don't recall which case the 44 uses, I know 42 and 46 are different and 44 uses one of the two. *EDIT: For 2003 truck, need to use 01+ trans

It might be a hat trick to find a weighted 5.9 flexplate, I got lucky and scored one from a guy that switched to a T56. Brian RT Whiteley might have one though. He has a dakota junkyard, kinda sorta.

WAIT I keep forgetting, you have a 2003. So 98 trans will not work. Needs to be 01+. That was another electronics change in 2000.

Ok I ordered a new weighted flexplate it should be here in a few days and I asked about the trans cause the one that’s in it did slip and shifts rough and I got a 44re that’s been rebuilt that needs a home it should bolt up fine behind the 5.9
