Did you get/make a bill of sale with the truck that has both yours and sellers signature on it? If not, you're up **** creek and your paddle was not provided.

Default It's nice to get a win one occasionally

Thought I would update everyone regarding a title for the Dakota.
I have jumped the fiery hoops, sent the registered mails with MVD paperwork and waited the required time.
Today I spent 3 hours at MVD while the manager there bent over backwards to resolve this issue. For the sum of $4 I am now the sole legal owner of the truck with a non bonded/branded title to be mailed to me in 7 to 10 working days. I must admit I am a little nervous but I asked about the title at least 6 times and they assure me it will be a clean, clear unbranded title. My plans going forward are to wait 30 days, move it from the RV spot into the garage and get to work.

I've seen similar processes in Indiana. Once you get that title, that's it. Any previous title will be null and void. Congratulations.

Looking at the truck, yeah, I can see why.

Congrats! I am impressed you actually GOT a title. Now comes the REALLY fun part. Fixing it and driving it.

Thanks, the pics don't do it justice, for its age its in very good shape.

I'm not going to get too cocky just yet. I have heard so many horror stories I was about to make it go away... Glad I waited. I can tell you one thing for certain, Arizona is not a state to buy anything without a title. In fact most anyone and MVD recommends the buyer and seller go to MVD together and do the paperwork on the spot. I am disappointed in the previous owner as a human. A man doesn't play those games. I told a friend of mine I feel like emailing him and telling it, it's a shame someone else had to teach his son how a man takes care of business... But I won't... well probably not.

Looking at the pictures, I'd check the driveshaft for a disconnect device. The connections for a tow bar on the front bumper makes me wonder if it was towed behind a motor home. Regardless, it looks like a righteous truck.

The universe has a tendency to adjust the measure the fates have made from time to time. I try to do right by others and generally, I get along in life fairly well. Do I get gouged from time to time? Yep. All in all though, I do pretty well and make sure I deal fairly with others. I'm a Christian not a Buddhist, but I think Karma does make an appearance from time to time.

That's a nice straight body there. Nice and clean + I love Dakotas in white. Fact that it's 4x2 will be less useful in snow, but you'll trade that for increased reliability and less weight. I owned many a rwd car while growing up in NY and never got stuck.... my attitude was that they were "fun" in the snow. Won't go into details but lets just say I kept the hand emergency brakes taught for the fun times.
