Unhappy project 2000 dakota

hi all and thanks for letting me join ya!!!

Recently picked up a 2000 v6 dakota 4x4 with a rod knock . The crank was rough so i swaped in a salvage engine and did all the usual gaskets seals crank sensor etc.. It ran excellent till friday evening on acceleration it backfired and died and will not run now .Fuel presure is 49 lbs crankin ,spark is good cam sensor is new and pulsing , i can get a back fire if i hold it to the floor while cranking . I was thinking jumped time . however if i point the rotor at #1 plug balance pully is at 2 degrees btdc so i am really stumped i even pulled all the plugs and did a compression test all cyl were right at 120 .... what am i missing here triple checked fuses swapped relays around ...any ideas ?

Plug in with a scanner, and see what the pcm thinks engine temp is.

I don't think the power wire on the ALDL is actually powered in start...... so that is likely 'normal'.

Are you getting injector pulse? How is fuel pressure??

i dont have the noid lights but i did back probe a few injectors and got a pulse . i plan to hit harbor frieght today and pic a set of the noid lights up if they are in stock..... . fuel presure stays between 45 and 50 lbs. at the schrader valve...i took a sample of fuel at the intake also and it was fairly clear and smelled just like gas ..
