I need your help
So I bought a 1998 dodge Dakota sport off of my co worker, it’s the 2.5L 4cylinder 5speed manual, it’s got no rot but I was told it needed a new fuel pump, it had been sitting for around 2 years. So I replaced the fuel pump, I tested the new pump and it is in fact working, but it will crank and crank but work start and doesn’t seem to be getting any gas to the fuel rail, I’ve been thinking of just getting a fuel cell and mounting it in the bed and running a line that way with a in-line pump. Any help would be appreciated!

Did you verify that it wasn't getting fuel to the fuel to the rail? You can disconnect the fuel line near it and verify. If you do have fuel you should check if you have spark. Pull a spark plug out and leave it connected to the wire. Then crank the engine. If you can see spark then its probably not the issue.

I will have to get one and come back once I do, but I’m pretty sure it has no fuel pressure because when I removed the line at the rail no gas was getting to it, and yes I do have spark
