Default Pump leak

Is this a bad gasket at waterpump?
On 01 ,3.9,2wd.


you can see a pulley at top of pic

Is that looking up? Might be the bypass hose if that's the case.

Rent a pressure tester and pump it up to to the pressure on the radiator cap. That should tell u.

Its the timing chain gasket ..is that very tough to change along w crank seal?


hoarse shoe shaped.
water pump ones on mine look dry

I figured that would be it. The water pump is a much smaller area but I wasn't sure if it was leaking down. Yes, it's a much bigger job than the water pump. Basically everything on the front of the engine has to come off to allow access and removal.

I see video is 3.7 ..is that the same as 3.9.on procedure?

An do these both[ that timing gasket an crank] seal off the antifreeze or just the large hoarshoe shaped one? Does crank seal block the oil.. it was hard to tell but it looked more like antifreeze than oil but I cant rule both out..
An those main gaskets,like the 2 blue ones , on my water pump look dry,the kit has those with it . .pic



Would be good if i could slide the U shaped one in but I know I should look at both ..

No, I missed that in your first post, sorry. Theoretically the same but looks easier for the 3.9. Search for some 3.9 vids

this may be more exact on 3.9 as to this common problem.He had same exact leak as I do .
