Default Radiator replacement

I've decided after finding some pinhole leaks in the radiator, it's time to replace it.
Is there anything I should be looking for, are there good radiators and bad radiators??
I plan to get it on RockAuto.
I'm not looking for a high performance racing radiator (?!), just stock.
Thanks all for any pointers.

I vaguely remember there being several different radiator sizes for the 97-00 dakota's. Might be worth checking rad sizes before you buy just incase there is several options. Pinhole leaks often are from galvanic corrosion. Might want to replace the water pump too while you have it torn down since its metal is probably also eaten. Also flush the heater core in reverse.

Thanks, supadoom. I'm going to buy the radiator and I have a retired, certified Dodge mechanic that is going to install. Seems like the general public like us can get parts cheaper or from RockAuto at a better price than the mechanics can. I'll double check all the ins and outs, check the measurements and check again before ordering.

You want the HD core. The 2.5 might not need it, but you'll be better off in the future.

Not sure if this fits your truck, but if it does, buy it and don't look back. I've already done the research.

I have the CSF radiator and went ahead and bought new upper and lower hoses. I’m looking at water pumps now and surprised how relatively inexpensive they are. Is there something in particular I should be looking for? One brand better than another? Is there also something like a sensor or something attached to the water pump or radiator that I need to invest in also? My heater core was replaced about three years ago. I’m not concerned about the heater. Thanks all for any assistance.

Nothing special on the water pumps. Just no "cheap crap" for the sake of the shaft seal/bearing. I have a FlowKooler on mine, but ran a store brand "premium" on the V6 before that without issue.
