Is the rear harness from the 01? Or the 97?

Losing the signal like that could be the sensor, or, just a bad connection somewhere.....

Hi sir!

Rear differencial is from 97, all wiring harness is from 01, I have transfered all together. Sensor should be the same?

The connector *might* be different..... Not sure on that... Does it plug in good, and STAY there?

Hhhmmm..... I don't think the number of teeth on the tone ring changed over the years. I know the sensor changed a bit, but, that was just how it mounted.... I don't think how it works changed at all. Somewhere along the line though, the PCM is losing the signal. (speedo stops working, abs lite on.) Could try a different sensor, but, at this point, I am just guessing... Given the consistency of its behavior though, wonder if the pcm is bad......

Put it up on jack stands. Figure out which wire is signal return, and which one is 5 volt feed. Run it at idle in first gear, and see if you get consistent ouput. If you don't, make sure the sensor is still getting its 5 volt feed.

Hi again,

i still am having troubles with speedometer and shifting gears. I have checked the 5 voltages on the rear abs sensor and it seems it is consistent, there is no drop of voltage.

I have swaped an engine, complete wiring, computers, speedometer and everything from 2001 dakota sport to 1997 dakota 4wd. Still, when I am driving with the speed of I don’t know, 50km/h, the speedometer jumps once till the end and transmission shifts to 4th gear, or speedometer just drops down and transmission drops to 1st gear.

The only thing that I remember is the difference in rear differencial, donor car had 9” and my car has 10”. Could be the reading of the signal been different? Or that cmp needs to be reprogramed or something?

Or maybe someone has the schematics of how the signal goes from rear sensor to the speedometer and then how it shifts?

or if maybe somebody has any other idea?

thank you!
