2000 Dakota quad cab. Had messed up neg battery connector, fixed that. Charged battery and lights come on but ignition does nothing, there is a clicking noise coming from behind the glove box though. Unsure how to trouble shoot. I also removed the started and had it bench tested ok at auto zone. The battery is one year old interstate. Any thoughts?

 

What are you driving? Engine? Trans? Last time it started? Work done to it after that?

 

The clicking should be coming from the starter motor relay in the power distribution center (fuse box) under the hood. The starter motor relay triggers the solenoid on the starter motor. There is a 40 amp fuse in the PDC as well.

Are you sure that you have good clean connections and especially the ground?
