Default headers

i read somewhere that some of your cheaper headers primary tubes are actually too small and can be more restrictive than the stock manifold. Is 1 1/2 primary tube and 2.5 inch collector sufficent for a 5.2 magnum? heres the site i'm wanting to buy them from http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

That size is fine, but make sure your looking at the right ones, those look like they are for a 1st gen Dak.

what is the difference in the headers themselves? it should be the same block shouldnt it? and my truck has aftermarket exhaust anyhow so i dont expect it to line up perfect ya know? will it bolt to my cylander heads though?

the headers will be different. cause the frames changed between 1 and 2 generation daks. and the part number would be the same if they were. they will bolt up to your engine but probly hit the frame or the steering shaft.

Well your after market exhaust does not touch your headers. They attach to your cat, then cat to y-pipe, then y-pipe to headers. When you throw on a cat back exhaust system, your only doing cat on back. The smog part refers to the fact it has the places to mount the O2 sensors for emissions. If your going to take the time and spend the money to put in headers opt for the ceramic coating.

1 1/2 is a little on the small side, but unless you've done a lot of other work it won't matter.
