as you can see i have a pair of amps but not near the wattage that you run. i dont have any problems but i do notice that if i am stopped at a light with the blower on full blast AND the stereo cranked that the voltage hovers around 12v instead of 14v. it may have done this stock though, i installed the under drive like a month after i got the truck. with your giant amp it would probably be a good idea to get a huge capacitor in line with that system to level out the load a bit.

edit: i also only have the subs turned up to like 20% on the amp, thats where it sounds best listening to rock.

I would not use nitrous on a stock engine unless you have the money to replace in. Hell in fact even if you have a modified engine I wouldnt recommend it.

 

i agree with Evilzombiez running Nitros is real risk. i have plenty of speed with the parts i have on my truck the only problem the way that i went is a whole lot more expensive and literally broke me to do it. But i am glad i did it and not just went with the cheap and fast way of nit. Well good luck which ever way you may go.

 

if you take your time with a NOS setup, get the correct computer controler and know when to use NOS, it can be an inexpensive and reliable way to dramitically/temporarily gain horsepower. the problem with nitrous is that people do not know how to use it correctly. most people are using either too much or they make an idiot mistake like popping the bottle open at idle. like i said before, if you know what you are doing, nitrous can be a great advantage. if you dont know what you are doing, stay the hell away.

also, if you do decide to run nitrous, always run the correct amounts for your particular engine. it is always safer to run less nitrous than too much.

 

why exactly does your engine need to be at a minimum of 3,000 RPM when you flip the NOS? because thats what the recomendations say for a kit i was looking at. Also how long does a NOS burst usually last? how many would you get out of a 10 LB bottle and how much does it cost to refill?

 

How long a 10lb bottle lasts depends on the shot size you're using. When I ran a 35 shot on a 10lb bottle on my Talon, it lasted a fairly long time. It was set up to where at full throttle the throttle would push a button to inject the nitrous as long as it was activated by switch inside the car. Thanks for everyones advice.

 

are the dry nitrous systems more dangerous than wet ones cause my dad seems to think they are i just want to get a little insite from some other ppl. he knows what he's talking about most of the time but sometimes he really doesnt. like when it comes to the whole backpressure argument velocity good backpressure bad he just wont believe it

 

As long as you know what you're doing,( saw a civic engine acually dismantle itself when some idiot hit the switch funny ****) It should be safe to run 100 shot
i'd go with any safety measures to get more life out of the engine.

well i'm wanting to find a dakota R/T reg cab and put the sniper body kit on it and build it up for drag racing legaly at a drag strip so i figured i'd get some info on this stuff i dont plan on putting it on my 98 so is wet or dry the better way to go?
