Default 1999 r/t won't start or boost need help

The truck is an 1999 R/T club cab with 115,000km on it. The truck won't start or boost, all you get is clicking. I've also had a constant problem with battery post corrosion. The posts are literally crusted over every 2 weeks. I have replaced the battery, clamps and cables. The fuel system has been cleaned and the truck has been tuned up recently. I'm in Canada and it's currently -15c, and it's been that temp for a week and the truck has started and ran fine. But today it's a no go, and I seem to have these random days at least once or twice a month. Any suggestions? Thanks

thats wierd. Id check and see if your getting any spark, then id take a fuel pressure reading.

One person suggested the alternator is over charging the battery which may explain the corrosion, but not the sporadic non-starting.

if all your getting is a "click" sound then it would be your starter.

try hitting your starter with a hammer and then see if it will start.

my 88 dak did that for about a month, so I just hit it with a hammer when it clicked. it would only do it the odd time. then it got worse. but I took my starter apart and sanded all the connections and brushes. and it worked for a couple more weeks.

is the battery leaking around the posts...? that is realy weird, overcharging wouldnt do this, the click is due to the corrosion geting between the post and battery termnal so the starter doesnt get enough power may be a bad starter too, try the hammer thing...

Well as of right now there is no corrosion since everything was replaced recently. I think I'm going to have to get it towed to a mechanic and get them to check all these things (starter etc.)

Try putting some "Anti Corrosion" lube on the posts and terminals. It can be purchased at any auto parts store for close to nothing. I had the same problem, applied it to a new battery I got, and never had the problem again. A temporary solution is to spray paint the terminals after being well cleaned. This will create a seal that will not let oxygen in. (Oxygen being a needed component in the chemical process)
