Default New Intake Time!

Hello everyone!

This thread is concerning a new CAI I purchased. It arrived today, and I am going to install it tonight. This will apply to all 3.9, 5.2 and 5.9 motors. The intake is designed for the 5.2 and 5.9, however, us guys with the 3.9 needed to breathe better also right? I am going to take some pictures throughout the whole ordeal and perhaps find an air solution for everyone that can come at a cheap price (Total of $69.27 shipped). Just to prove the point of the value of throttle body spacers, this kit came with a free one, including gaskets and hardware. (Apparently they are selling so poorly, they are giving them away.) I will not be installing it, but for those of you out there, you will be able to get one for free with the kit. This is the link to the kit I purchased:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...9298%26fvi%3D1

I like this kit because it has a washable, hi-flow air filter (K&N rip-off) and has a larger throttle body air hat. All further info on the kit is in the above link. I will be putting it on tonight and posting my results.

My intake is the same, but it didn't come with a bracket. Wish it did. Are you taking out the stock air box altogether.

Yes, the stock air box, tubing, and throttle body hat will be removed and replaced. I will post up some pics.

LOL! Well, I am not one for the bling. I was amazed on how big that filter is. Combined with a 4" diameter tube, I imagine this will supply all the air I could ever need.

you should cut a hole through your rubber shielding behind the grill inbetween the rt light and the radiator to let some cool air through so u don't have all the hot air off the engine hitting it, or just remove it alltogether. i'd show you my set up but i tried posting pictures once or twice and it didn't work. how the preformance? i also put in an alum tube on it thinking it would be a smoother flow than the ribbed rubber piece but the alum. gets really hot, might go back to rubber or just insulate the tube really well. i like the way it looks for pretty not that much $$.whatqaulity is thefilter and how is the fit???
