well i'm sure some of you have ready my 612 dolar alignment post. And as i mentioned in it My rubber boot over the CV joint on the left side is split wide open. The mechanic said the axel is dry it is going to go out before too long. Is there anyway i can prolong this from happening. like maby grease it or fill the boot with oil and glue the split so it doesnt leak out?

Just buy a new boot, grease the axel, and install the boot. Simple job, and a lot cheaper than buying a new axle.

Some just think they know it all, and like to mock others that don't. Don't let it bother you. Any one or the repair. It's not a big job, just cut off the old boot and clamps (side cutters and utility knike). Grease it up and put on the new boot and clamps. Just buy a split boot thats made for instalation on an axle thats still on the truck, grease usualy comes with it. Give it a try and let us know how it went.
