Bouncing noise at driver front side
Hi there,
Maybe someone can help me with this: everytime I take road bumps on my -D- it make an annoying noise at the driver front side like if something is loose. I can't find where it comes and already check (visually) the suspension system and under the dash. I even took my -D- to a local technician and nothing found. I told him not to touch a thing because of the warranty. But he didn't find anything strange.
Any idea? The passenger side is perfect. The sound can be compared to the movement of a damage shock but I only have 25K miles on my -D-. You can also feel the "bounci" movement at the driver side front wheel.
Thanks,

Not since new. I believe from about 6 to 8 months. I took my -D- to the dealer last Friday for the G07 recall and they also check the noise. They found two chasis bumper joints pretty bad. These are located just below the driver and passenger seats. They replaced and grease them.
I still hear the noise but a smaller range. I need to check if there is another chasis bumper under the engine compartment.Maybe these ones needs replacement too.
Will post again as soon as I check.
Thanks for responding!

I dont know if this is gonna help but mine had the same problem. I have a 2005 Limited and i was noticing the same thing only mine had more of a rattle. I took it to the idiots at the dealership and they could not find anything. I finally found it myself. Have them check the rearcontrol link or arm bolt that mounts to the frame. The welded nut had broke off and the bolt was spinning and making the suspension loose and the nut was rattling in the frame rail and i was hearing it underneath my feet on the floor board
I have no idea if this is helpful, but it won't hurt to mention. I my first gen 4.7 Durango I had a similar sounding noise that was driving me nuts. Figured out it was the trans dipstick tube hitting something (can't remember what, this wasa few years ago. I believe it was the firewall, since it runs up so close to it). moved it a little bit - problem solved, never heard again.
Wow! That's sounds like a new place to look for. I'm planning to go to the dealer for the second time (so it's not so hard yet) but I'm taking your post with me.
Just to make sure, you're referring to the suspensionarm, right? The upper one (aluminum) or the lower one?
Thanks!

Thanks,
It is from the left front as far as I can tell and you can feel it more then hear it in the steering wheel.
When the truck had 5000 miles on it they replaced the steering rack for another problem and the noise started approximatly at 15-20,000 miles.
I am starting to think it may be the steering rack or the steering shaft that couples to the steering rack from the steering wheel column.
Keep me posted please.

Haven't done anything yet. But I will post as soon as I get my D to the dealer. I have made a list of possibilities from many comments from this site and others from the Internet. The list is now with over 5 things to look that may be the answer to our problem.
Someone mentioned about the steering shaft and I believe I don't have that one.
Will post results asap.
