Default Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

I have stumbled across a debate that any advice would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to put Flowmaster exhaust on my 05 Hemi Durango when the guy at the shop suggested that because of having an SUV and a family, that a Magnaflow would give me the same performance without the interior resonance and noise of a Flowmaster. Personally, I love the Flowmaster sound but can see how it would get annoying for my kid or wife. I don't know much about Magnaflow as far as performance or customer happiness with it. I have listened to the sound clips on their website and I think the sound is decent. Any suggestions as to which I should get would be greatly appreciated.

I have the magnaflow and it sounds great. It is a nice throaty sound but does not have a droning sound cruising on the turnpike ( I drive 25 miles to work on it). I have a full exhault from the headers through so this may effect its tonal qualities instead of just a cat-back. I have read some articles about the harshness of the fowmaster on this site.

I agree, go with the all stainless magnaflow over the Rustmaster. You won't have the hiway drone near as much. I've had just about all of them at one time or another. Now I pretty much stick to Bassani but wouldn't hesitate to own another Magnaflow.

On a Gen2 D... I don't know which would be best.

I think FM vs. MF is like Charmin vs. Cottonelle... both do the dirty work just fine. My Gen1 has the FM Series 50 SUV and it is great.

If the MF has a stainless version that works, go for it. I think if the flow is good, the rest isn't going to make much of a difference one way or the other.

Check the manufacturers websites. They all have audio clips now.
