Default Running Board Lights

First I want to say Hello, I'm new to this forum. Now to the question. I just bought an 09 Durango for my wife and I installed some after market running boards with lights. The install directions, well what directions should I say, they don't say where to hook up the wires. I was wondering if anyone has done this and where is the best place to hook them up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would find the circuits to the courtesy lights that are triggered via the remote, then tap into there. It would be nice to illuminate the ground at the time you have the interior lights come on. I have considered that as a retro fit on my Gen1 for years.

I know I need to tie into the courtesy lights, but there is so many wires and the owners manuel doesn't say which fuse is for the lights. If I knew which fuse it was I think I could jump off of the fuse. I just don't know which one or with all the wires coming from the door what color is the wire. I don't won't to screw up and tie into the wrong wire and short something out. So I need some mor e help if any is avaliable.

It won't be in the manual.

You need the wiring diagram for the '09 (or at least the 07+) that is found in the FSM. Don't have one myself for a D that new but now you know where to look.

If the Aspen had the lighted running boards via Mopar as an add-on option, then that one will come with very detailed instructions including the wiring diagrams. **IF**

Got the lights working. I took down one of the interior lights and looked at the color code on the wires. Then I pulled off the wall console by the fuse box and found the wire and checked it first with my tester and it worked. So I then spliced into the wire. Wife is happy and it only took me 3 afternoons to install these running boards.
