Default Fill plug on rear diff

Paperwork says the truck has the 9.25 rear end. I was gonna do a rear fluid swap, and I cant find the fill plug. Its the rear that has the bar (cant think of the name of it) bolted into the rear diff cover. Any help??

Mine does not have a fill plug either as you will need to unbolt the assembly,

Do you use the hole in the rear cover as the fill plug? Does the hole even go all the way through? Forgot to mention its an 06 Durango.

forgive me for not understanding. I was under the impression all rear diffs had fill plugs. What assembly are you referring to? Does anyone know off hand the amount of fluid the 9.25 rear end holds and what the cover is made of? I may weld a drain and/or fill plug in it when I remove it.

You would need to unbolt the the covers and clean out the gears and then fill. My mechanic claims there are no fill plugs, but I have read contrary to this and there are fill ports on both axles. You should unbolt the cover to clean if this is the first change,

there is a fill plug---NOT A DRAIN PLUG.... to drain it you much unblot the cover-starting from the bottem and then work your way around either side.

If there was no Fill plug--- you wouldnt be able to fill it unless the whole diff was out on the ground blocked up with the cover facing upwards.
