Default 2006 Durango 5.7L Code P0406 Error help

my wife just got this code on her 06 Durango limited, I looked online and found this:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...rk-w-pics.html

is the fix basically the same for the Durango? I reset her check engine light, will see if it comes on again. but need advice on how involved is the fix, and how much is a common fee from a mechanic as far as repair cost, and estimate time it takes for them to do it.

I am figuring out here its about $70hr, if the part is about $40 from what I saw online, can i expect a a bill of about 1 - 2 hrs labor + the part?

also found this:

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2007/18-027-07.htm

sounds like it is related to what I am experiencing?

thanks for any advise.

EGR valve, common issue. Buy it for $40 at your local auto parts store and replace it yourself.

thanks for the link. so then the issue in the TSB doesn't clear up the issue you still need to replace the part?

looks like its a replace issue here as the light is back on. so will report back what I find.

Dealership is wanting like $100+ for the part, and also said I need some gasket that is like $11? anyone know what that gasket is?

So in short, about $180 for parts and labor. may just give this a try then as I have coworker whose into cars heavy, and her husband is willing to help me switch it out.

Would be my first real car work!
