Default Interior lights won't come on when door open...

My wife has a 2005 Durango and every time it comes back from service, the interior lights don't come on when you open the door. Is there some trick we can do at home to get that function working again?

That link indicates there are no outstanding recalls for the vehicle...

It is very possible that when they performed the service for the recall, and were putting everything back together, they didn't connect something properly (or missed it altogether). Dealerships make mistakes just like any other shop, unfortunately.

Was there any repairs done recently or recalls fixed that you know of?

Mariner:

Check to see if by chance they are rotating the thumb wheel to the right of the head light switch all the way down.

This shuts off the interior lights. Possibly they are forgetting to reposition it before they give it back to you!

Don,

I wish it was that easy. There is no setting I can find internally that would seem to make a difference.

Jason,

The only service they've done was the exhaust manifold, shortly after we purchased and then a front wheel bearing. Nothing I could think of that had anything to do with the electrical system, unless they're taking the lead off the battery when they do any service work.

FF,

The instrument cluster was replaced about a year ago...

Do you know if it is under warranty by the dealer who installed the new cluster? Maybe this is an after effect of the new cluster as it also kills the dimming function according to another psot I remember reading,
