'06 Durango SLT @ Automotive Avenues--BEWARE!!
I recently bought a white '06 Durango SLT from Automotive Avenues in Wall, NJ. They advertised it on ebay, stating absolutely NO prior accident damage, body work or rust. It had 145K miles, but looked great in the pics, so I thought it was a good deal @ $7800 and bought it, because it had EVERY option--Hemi, sunroof, DVD, leather, all of it. As soon as it arrived, I could see lots of rearranged body panels, bondo peeking out both rear quarters, a Chinese front fender and a rear door jamb so tweaked the door doesn't fit. A real mess--but it had a clean Carfax! It took hiring a local lawyer to go after them, but they finally bought it back. Which means...they will be trying to sell it again! Watch Out! These guys are crooks and you DON'T want that truck Chassis #168349

06 Durango SLT
My name is Michael Shaw. I am one of the owners of Automotive Avenues and I wanted to respond to this complaint. We sold this vehicle with no prior knowledge of body work. We had stated that it was a clean car fax vehicle. As with any sale we recommend that a buyer have the vehicle inspected. It is very important for us to keep our reputation blemish free. We had asked our customer to send us the pictures and documents supporting his claims. As of today we have not received any documentation. Our goal is to give our customers vehicles that they want; not to have unsatisfied customers. We issued a 100% refund to this customer. We did relist this vehicle but it was edited. We have over 1,000 positive reviews on ebay. We are sorry that this vehicle was not up to par for this customer.

Ebay is very tricky for buyers and sellers. The only good thing about Ebay is the rating feature. You must be very descriptive with what you are selling or the buyer can claim you sold them something that was different from what you described. I sold the blemished wheels on my Coronet R/T as I got new ones and the buyer contested the sale due to minor rust. Now, the photos show the wheels and the rust and his claim did not hold, I got a negative rating from him. I have bought two cars online, but asked for a myriad of pictures. Ebay is too risky for me to buy a car, but I did try to sell my Demon on it without success.

Not taking sides here, but no way would I ever purchase a vehicle off of ebay without seeing it IN PERSON before I bought it.

More lies from Automotive Avenues
I read Mr. Shaw's response with no surprise. In my first email to him expressing my concerns for the damage I discovered on the newly-arrived Durango, I attached a package of very clear photos showing all areas of concern. And I still have them--want to see? I also have the report from the auction where Shaw bought the vehicle as a rebuilt wreck. He claims to have never seen any of these problems, yet he is a 'professional' auto dealer. B.S. The problems were so poorly repaired that ANYONE could see them. And NO, I didn't get all my money back. After weeks of runaround by Shaw, I had to hire an attorney to go after him, which cost a significant amount of money. Automotive Avenues is still a schlock outfit run by a pair of people who are far from honest. And the state of New Jersey is taking forever to respond to my complaint against their dealer license. STAY AWAY!

I would suggest to everyone to never buy a car without first looking at it in person or hiring a mechanic to look over the vehicle for you which some online sites provide. I am closing this thread as it could pose a liability issue to Internet Brands.
