Default 2005 Radio issues

I had to jump start my Durango and the AAA guy that came out screwed it up by not making the connections correctly. After replacing the battery I noticed that my radio was working but no sound. After replacing the fuses there was still no sound. After checking on the forums I determined that it had to be the amplifier itself. I located the amplifier behind the front passenger kick panel. I went to the mechanics shop and explained to them what the problem was and had to wait 2-3 weeks for them to find a replacement. once the new one was installed there was sound once again. so check the amplifier and replace it.

Thanks...
It's underneath the steering wheel. There are three fuses there taped together.

Thumbs up

Same Problem, Noticed after washing Durango, the radio would turn on with sound for a few seconds, then a loud pop or two. Then silence from all speakers, yet the radio head unit (factory) was operating as normal. Upon further investigation from ideas and location list above, I found the amp on the passenger side floor board kick plate. My carpet was wet, the amp was damp, and following up I found the vent had water resting in the low points. So Sounds like bad windshield or door seal, which allowed water to impact the AMP and cause its issue. Currently have a fan in place to dry the area and reevaluate the situation. Thank you all for the input and ideas.

I would do a water test and local the leak and then repair it. And dry out the amplifier.
