Need help 2007 dodge durango won't start
2007 Dodge Durango SLT 3.7 V6 2WD
OK so I went to the museum with my family and everything was fine. We come out, jump in, and nothing. I get a clicking noise and no engine sounds at all. Try to jump it and still nothing. All the interior lights and stereo are working, as a matter of fact the radio will not go off at all. Finally get it jump started and start to head home. Every few seconds on the ride home the radio cuts out and the traction control shuts off. The brake light comes on and the engine almost dies. We make it to the house and I take both terminals off to check for corrosion and see if the system will reset. Now it won't start so I try to jump it and it turns over for a second, then nothing, then two seconds, then nothing, then one second, then nothing, etc. I can't get the engine started and have now way to get to autozone to even hook up a computer to it.
Could it be the alternator? The stereo won't shut off ever, the auto up and down windows will not go auto while it was running, and every time the car shifted, the traction control light came on and the brake light flashed. Any suggestions would be great!

UT:
Sounds very much like you just become a member of the DBC or dead battery club. I would remove that battery ASAP and have it load tested at your local AZ.
Our Durangos have a lot of underhood heat which kills batteries.
I have had very good luck with the Duralast Gold Battery at AZ and highly recommend them.

Jees
Here is my problem along the same lines - DOGE 2004 Durango hemi 5.7
1) Battery connected - clicking relays - flickering dashboard and gauge lights
2) Not able to jumpstart - zero cranking
3) Battery voltage disconnected 12.8v
4) Battery Voltage connected around 6.8 volts and lots of relays clicking
So sure maybe the battery is drained - due to something else sucking the life out of it This does not explain why a jumpstart does not work and based on item 4) something is shorted and pulling down the voltage.
So I need help to quickly diagnose this dude, before I get screwed on Monday taking it into the dealer. Wife blames me, of course, for the problem - jees
Any help needed please respond with any and all ideas - I have read others on this but "replace battery" is not the root cause if the problem again based on 4)
