Default 06 Durango, wont start, has me baffled!

Hope someone could help me out with this problem it has me stumped. I have an 06 Durango slt, 4.7,4x4. truck was sitting for about week and I left the ignition on and my battery was dead. battery was old and needed to be replaced. I attempted to jump start it of another vehicle and don't know if I crossed the cables or touched something with the cables but I couldn't get it to turn over. I am getting power to the dash and ignition switch but when I try to turn the truck over all the light on the dash go out and I just hear relays clicking. I will quickly list what I tried so far.
- new battery
- new ignitn switch
- checked all fuses relays (seem fine)
- checked under dash all plugs and connectors for a loose wire, also plug at the rear of the column for the ignition.(all look good)
- I have power to and from the front control module and power control module.
- have power to starter from battery but no power to the low voltage(signal side of the starter) I did use a jumper wire and as able to get the starter to turn over but truck wouldn't start.
- I do have a low end obdII scanner but I am getting no codes when scanned.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANK YOU

I have left my keys in the ignition overnight a few times and AAA jumped it with a portable charger. The first time it happened it was all weekend and he had to use his truck with the portable jumper in series to jump my battery. I would make sure the battery that you bought is in fact at full charge and maybe jump it with another vehicle connecting it correctly.

Thanks for the reply. I did attempt to jump start it after I installed the new battery. I figured that the combination of the new battery and the power from the other veh it would start. No Luck.

What kind of battery did you buy?

When jumping the D, how long did you have the connection hooked up for on the old battery?

It sounds like the old battery was done for and the new one is either defective or doesn't have enough amps to turn the engine over. How many cold cranking amps (CCA) is the new battery?

The battery is an exide not sure on the cca but I did have it tested where I bought it and it is good. If I take a jumper
wire and run it from the battery to the low voltage side of the battery it turns over no problem but it will not start which I believe is because the fuel pump is not getting power. This leads me to beleive that there is a problem with something like a relay that sends power to starter and fuel pump at the same time. I just cant locate it.

Rdog:
Sounds like you have a high resistance connection somewhere. Do you hear ther FP come on for a second ot two when you first move the key to the Run position?

If the cables got crossed, you may have scrambled one of the many on board computer modules.
Have you tried a simple battery disconnect reset now that you have a known good battery? I know that sounds too simple, but I have had more than one case where I was pulling my hair out over a no start, and a reset was the fix.

Our Durangos and most other Chrysler/dodge vehicles do not behave normally if they experience a less than strong/stable reference voltage from good battery.

Thanks for the reply. I did disconnect the
The battery for about an hour. Would that be long enough to rest it.i can hear the fuel pump run briefly when the key is turned to run. I also pulled two used control modules from a wrecked 05, The one next to the battery and the one attached to the two fuse boxes under the hood although someone told me they won't work because they are vin specific. Any thoughts.

Okay so the starter will turn the engine over or no, if the fuel pump is faulty the engine should still turn over just won't start.

Starter will not turn over. I checked the connections at the starter I have power to the starter from the battery but on the smaller wire connected to the starter which would be energized when you turn the key there is no power. If I take a jumper wire from the battery to the smaller wire I could get the starter to turn over. The truck at that point will not stay though.i beleive there is some sort of relay that is bad as it is not sending power to the starter and fuel pump,i just can't locate it.
