Default 2004 durango shift cable problem

I have a 2004 dodge durango and the little plastic part in the steering column at the very top of the shifter cable broke so now it wont go into any gear does anyone know if this cable comes apart anywhere or if we have to replace the entire cable? And does any one know what this part is called?
