Ooops. Yeah, thats pretty much a fatal flaw.

Not sure there are any differences between the engines that will do the flex fuel thing, and those that won't. I believe that's just a matter of programming, and an additional sensor or two. Need to see how many connectors you have on your PCM, and make sure the engine you get used the same. The one difference I am aware of, is the tooth count of the tone ring for the crank sensor. They MUST match, else it simply won't run.

Moving this to 2nd Gen Durango section for ya. Folks there will know more than I do.

So they do have same amount of pugs to the ecm and also look the same everything just was thinking I might have to change some things like the fuel line new fuel pump things in that nature bring the computer with it what do I need to do yeah I'm getting this at a pick-a-pull and I went around and I turn the motors checked everything that I could check or possibly think of but also I'm kind of worried about this mounting bracket or something like that they are calling for her on these 4.7

Well, you still have your original motor, right? Should be able to transfer anything you don't have from the old motor, to the replacement.

Buy one that you can hear run first, or one that has some variety of warranty... so if it does have problems, you have some recourse. Either that, or buy one cheap, rebuild it first, then install it.
