I also run into this problem today. Limited Hemi with auto A/C. I just tried pulling the IOD and reinstalling. I will be stopping by the dealership tomorrow as a follow-up. If I'm told something different I'll post it.

I talked to the Service Department at the dealership and they have NEVER heard of this problem. They did check for TSB's on the big D. The only TSB is what was written earlier about the IOD. As usual they can't do anything until they see the problem. The Dealership here is small and out in the sticks so they're last to know of a problem. If it accures again I will be driving straight to them and then we'll see but until then, like everyone else I will just wait and see.

Hey guys...I don't know if I am upset or glad to know that there are more of you out there that are having a/c problems. I just purchased my Durango and the a/c is blowing hot air. I have been 'round and 'round and finally got an answer. It is a software problem and they are telling me that the software is complete; however due to the emmision changes, the goverment has to approve the update first. The date that I am getting is approximately July 19th. BUT, they really don't know, and you know how it is when the goverment is involved. I have not made my first payment on my Durango yet and I am fighting to keep the loaner car. They keep saying that it is not a recall issue! No they cannot recall them because they can't fix them yet! I have found post as far back as February with people having this problem, but now that it is getting really hot outside, people are starting to figure it out. They are saying it is not a safety issue and it can be fixed by turning off the vehicle and restarting it. What gets me is they know about the problem and are still selling these Durango left and right! I live in Texas...and boy is it hot without a/c. My job keeps me on the road all day. Sorry guys, but I didn't buy a $32K vehicle so I could sweat in the Texas heat. I wish I knew how many people are actually having this problem. Maybe if enough of us jump up and down, something will get done.

Don't let them tell you that they don't know the problem, they all received bulletins on this issue. They are pretending not to know, so it will not get out that there is an unfixable problem with the 04 Durango. Sales would plummet, and right now the Durangos are HOT...literally!
