Default 06 Limited Hemi upgrades w/mds?

We just got a our Durango its got 1900 miles on it.I want to ask if any knows if thes anybody that offers a performance tune for it?I think next week were going to get the Magnaflow cat back system, its to me got a good clean sound to it.She dont want everyone looking at her when shes looking for a parking spot at the local Walmart, cuz it would be to loud.I listened to Magnaflow and flowmaster.Flowmasters was to loud. What about IMCO's exhaust system I have a couple of buddies that work there I have nt ask them what they might have yet are their exhaaust sound good?I'm leaning toward Magnaflows so far.So far we both agree on the maganflow.Hell its her truck not mine.I just think the factory exhaust sounds ok but not the Hemi sound that I want to hear. Exhaust frist, then maybe a performance tune. Any cold air intakes out there for the 06 Hemis? Just a few questions. Thanks for any replies. Vince

Well as far as exhaust you can go for a 50 or 60 series muffler that would keep down the sound, IMHO I don't even think the hemi's are loud at all on those things with stock exhaust, also you should go for a k&n CAI or do something like I did if you can on the 2nd gen D's, but I doubt you want anything rigged up that doesn't look professional since it's all shiny and new but it does actually get cold air and it's cheap as hell http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...up002_0001.jpg

Other than that a fastman throttle body at www.thefastman.com and a chip of your choice. I have heard a lot of guys on here use superchips programmers. That would be a nice setup to start and then if you really want to be the baddest D owner on the block you can get a supercharger. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

You can't go wrong with your choice of exhaust, but the Flowmaster 70Truck series is not loud, but speaks horsepower when you really get on it. And for cool air kit, get the real deal, a ram-air hood w/ the functional CAI, or modify a K&N CAI to make your hood funtional. Not only is the response incredible, but the look is awsome.
Heres a link to check out, for your 06 Durango.http://www.autotrucktoys.com/durango...8769C1692.aspx

I got the Flowmaster cat back system for my 06 Durango. The system comes with the 70 series muffler, which is Flowmaster's quietest. I'm going to the muffler shop today to see what can be done to quiet this beast. I've had it for 2 weeks and I hate it, too loud inside the car, and it has some nasty resonances that I can't stand. I talked to the guy at the muffler shop and as soon as I mentioned "Durango" he interrupted me with "...and it's too loud inside, right?"
He claims to have had numerous Durango owners come in complaining that the Flowmaster is too loud inside the car. When I talke to Flowmaster they said that for the Durango they use the 70series because "you wouldn't like it with a 50 series."
I know we all have different tastes and tolerances for noise, but I think you are doing the right thing listening to others' systems before making your choice. I wish I had.

Good luck, and report back,
Flea

Yes the "D" is her.I guess. So no inputs on the Magnaflow or Imco's exhaust sytem.I,I mean she don't want it loud in the cabin at all cuz we have the entertainment system in there if the exhaust is loud the little indians would want her to crank it up louder,or the would have to put there cordless headphones or just so they can hear there movie.I saw on Ebay there the American Thunder seris for 350.00.How about that one? Anyone have any info on custom tuning or programming for the 06's?

Flowmaster only makes one system for the D (hemi & non) and it is the American Thunder system which comes with a 70 series muffler. This is the one I bought and found too loud inside the car.

Before you buy a muffler try this. Take the resignator off the back of the rig. Have a local muffler shop bend in a pipe and run it out the back. I did this to my wife's new 06 with the hemi and it made it sound like she wanted. Not too loud but a little louder so she knew she had the hemi and not the 4.7. Total cost $55.
