Turned out the junkyard gave me a PCM for a 3.9 V6, so I went back and got one for a 5.9 V8 (it was the only one they had) and it LIVES

Why did you choose to go with the leaf spring suspension? I imagine you will loose a lot of articulation and stability in cornering and turns.

If I would have had the budget I would have put a rear suspension/axle set-up out of an LX chassis car in the back. But I don`t have that kind of cash. I did not like the way the 4-link was set up in our other car; it wasn`t set up properly and had very little adjustment. It liked to squat real bad and wouldn`t plant the tires. The leaf spring set up I have now doesn`t squat nearly as bad and plant the tires a little bit better. Plus I can still add a set of long traction bars to really get things where I want them...

I`m not terribly worried about stability. I`ve got the rear sway bar figured out and I`m still fiddling with the front. Not to mention I daily drive a 422rwhp 3/4 ton truck that I drive the crap out of. All I care is that the car out handle that beast. I`m not expecting to be able to hang with my wife`s 300m by any means...

that is pretty impressive. especially looking at the facilities you have to work with... doesn't look like anything extravagant but the results are cool.

are those off the shelf dakota headers?

sure is refreshing to see someone with problem solving and fabrication skills.

Yeah, it`s basically a heated 40x48x16 pole shed... Granted it`s in-floor heat (which is awesome for those -30* days) and we work full time repairing AG equipment, so it is by all means a shop. It`s just that it lacks things like a hoist, pipe bender, plasma cutter, mill, and lathe... All of which would have been very useful in this build. But, that`s not to say an oxy/acetaline, MIG, chop saw, drill press, and angle grinder didn`t suffice

I really would like to open my own customs shop, my friend who has the other RWD Intrepid on youtube wants me to open one too. Already have decals and should get a Federal Tax ID #, but we`re calling ourselves SS Customs since both of our last names start with S

The only problem is that I start school in a couple of weeks for Science Education to be a High School Science Teacher... Russ has some pretty good fab skills too, but if I open a shop I would like to be there all the time. So I`m torn at this point

Yes those headers are off the shelf shorties that fit EVERY 5.2/5.9 magnum application; ram, ram van, dakota, and durango. Thanks for the props for fab skills/problem solving, I kinda pride myself on those

where in WI are you guys?

did you ever think of doing Tech Ed instead?

definitely get a degree, just think you'd have all summer to do the business thing.

make sure that you get a math Ed minor with the science degree. it opens a lot of doors having multiple certifications.

We are in west central WI, about 70 miles straight east of the Twin Cities.

Thought of doing that, but there are so many people around here that go for that it isn't funny. Plus I actually liked physics/chemistry more than I liked shop class.

I was thinkin the same thing about the summer months...

I've already got my schedule lined up for a math minor. If you couldn't tell we live in a pretty rural aream so our schools aren't that big. Meaning being able to teach both math and science would be a big plus. It's only a few classes that are different
