Default Air Filter Q?

Will it hurt the engine if you take of the Air Filter cover , I took this of and immediatly felt a difference of sound and felt a tad bit of a Performance change is it wise to leave the cover off..

the only reason I did it was because about 4 years ago my friend had the Dodge motorsports racing neon that was fabricated through dodge and he did it to his and told me I should try it and today I did it and you can tell a difference ...

Dont mean to double post but is there any particular filter I should look into buying since im gonna run with the cover on?

Go for a K/N filter, good quality as opposed to that stuff they sell on ebay.

I'm going to just putting the filter on the throttle body. Not sure about the O2 sensor, I think just let it hang with that piece of plastic that attempts to go down the tire well.

I"ll post back some info later.

Yeah you get better gas mileage some also and a little gain in hp I ran mine with out the cover on with a k&n filter had a nice tone to it also. Now I have a custom intake with a cf custom fliter.

No I wouldnt go with that filter k&n is the best for filters I only use the cf one for shows. But for peroformance wise cant go wrong with k&n.

Wont hurt your engine whatsoever give it a try .
