Default Exhaust question

Ok, Silly question (sorta), Will a stock -or- aftermarket catback exhaust system made for an SRT-4 fit on a 2003 SXT?

to make things alittle more specific... I want a dual exhaust on my SXT like the SRT-4 has. can this be done?

yes but most aftermarket upgrades for an srt-4 exhaust are 3 inch exhaust and you wouldnt need that unless u are running a turbo. A stock srt-4 will fit but it REALLY LOUD. On the full cat back there is only 2 resonators. Most people get a rear section off an srt-4 and put a glasspack on.

But would it hurt the engine to get a 3 inch SRT-4 exhaust?

srt exhaust will fit without much issue. however, you will need to connect the two sections. also, unless you modify the exhaust to hang a little lower than stock setup, it will make contact with the rear bumper. while it has been said it will melt a little of the bottom ofyour bumper cover, i never had an issue in like 3 months or running an 01 rear bumper.

If it was going to hit the bumber I was just going to have the bumper cut out abit by a friend who is a wiz at bodywork. and if it looks bad, and I mean terribly aweful, with it just with being cut, then fiberglassing is always an option to clean it up

would it hurt the engine if I only put a 3 inch back pipe section on it keeping it stock from the mid pipe and forward?

Ok a stock srt4 exhaust will fit on any yr neon direct fit and its loud but can easily be tamed down with any glasspack muffler and any other srt4 exhaust you might have to custom fit . My rear sxt bumper never had to custom do and doesnt touch my rear at all.
