Default Bad Vibrations (when braking)

My 2004 SXT started to vibrate badly when under heavy braking. The vibration comes from the front and is only noticable under braking conditions, while driving everything is smooth. The wheels/tires have been recently balanced and an alignment done hoping to fix the problem but the problem persists, just not as bad. I have 17" rims with 205/40 tires.Any suggestions? I'm thinking I need new rotors....

You could go have the rotors checked out and maybe get some motor mounts from modern performance those might help you out alot .

I think your rotors are toast.

My rotors are **** too. But I don't spend money on internal stuff like "BRAKES" or "GAS". I'm purely into show.

anyways i was gonna get those slotted rotors on ebay but a lot on 2gn say they wear unevenly and crack. The power 2's at modern are supposed to be pretty good. BUT they're 89 each.

So go to autozone and buy 2 for like 34.99 and call it a day.

Here's the kicker....the car only has 28,000 miles on it...I've never had rotors wear out so quickly....are there any "heavy duty" rotors available without moving up to a bigger rotor or slotted? I had slotted on another car and they were a pain to get "turned", and for the price I don't want to always have to buy new ones....

I have the Ebay cross-drilled and slotted rotors with 35k on them with no uneven wear or cracking. I'm about to replace them with some new ones since I do my pads and rotors at the same time .

I bought new brembos once and carefully planned and cross-drilled them myself on a press... they worked great, never cracked or warped...

Anyway the only other thing I can think of would be a hub bearing. If you replace your rotors and still have shaking under heavy braking, I would suggest looking at replacing the hub bearings... I had one of these go bad one time (felt just like a warped rotor) and I ruined a brand new set of rotors before I figured out what was actually wrong with the car.
