Default Ebay CAI Vs K&N CAI

So. What you think? K&N you just paying for the name? Any performance difference? Should I just got with E bay intake and just get a K&N filter? Gimme your thoughts! If anyone has pics between the two or maybe even price and links. Also, witha E bay intake will there be any modifcations?

I got an ebay cols airintake for 45$ shipped. It works great and I got a small hp increase, the sound is very nice though. I would say get the ebay though an eventually buy a k&n filter for it. Now the modifications thing I really didnt have to do any, the mount that was on there though was quite worthless though I just bent it up and bolted it somewhere near my battery(i think). I dont see spending all that money extra money.

from what i understand the performance is roughly the same. i also got an ebay CAI and put an AEM filter on it. sounds awesome... i do agree about the cheap mounts though, but mine tends to stay in place at least.
I dont know about most but i certainly wouldnt use the filter that came with my ebay cai, it was like steel mesh visible holes terrible stuff.......pretty though....

From what I've read the K&N and AEM seem to fit and install better. They're also a bit higher quality. Butthen again it's just a tube so they all work the same. The K&N filters do work better though. But you end up spending $40 for the intake since they rip you off on shipping, and then another $50 for the filter so you're paying $90 for it. Which is still cheaper than the $170 for the K&N.

Overall the cheap ebay one with a K&N should perform just as well and cost less.

Even saying that I spent $150 on a K&N and it's on its way

As far as what I see there are some E bay intakes that already come with a K&N filter. What does it do for the sound?

K&N is better. They're probably K&N-like or K&N-type filters that come witht he ebay intakes. The filter that comes with the K&N kit is $53 on ebay right now.

As for sound it makes it quite a bit louder and deeper. Almost like putting a nice muffler on.

Alright. I have the Magnaflow muffler dual's which is a nice deep sound as of right now. As far as with the K&N filter with the ebay intakes I don't know what they are. I have found the K&N filter for neons at like 30 some bucks on Froogle.com

So from reading from you guys it just seems to get the Ebay CIA and get a K&N air filter and I will get the same performance from it.

Yes as long as it's not a short ram intake.
