Default JE piston/Eagle rod rebuild

so if I rebuild my bottom end with forged JE pistons/eagle rods (basically the kit from modern) and I run it at 10.5:1 compression, can I turbo my car later down the road with that same compression ratio?

As far as I know that is a big No. Turbos run on low compression. I will check back once I talk to a friend.

turbos can run on higher boost but you need to make sure your either running low boost or you have spent alot of time with the settings to make sure you dont blow it up

Im pretty sure hes talking about engine compression and not how many psi his turbo is pushing.

yeah sorry was half asleep when i wrote that.

turbos can run on higher compression engines. but you need to make sure you tune for it and more then likely will need to run lower boost levels

get the 8:6:1 for turbo (i think thats the number) theres no need to rebuild it unless you are going to turbo it

Its not impossible by any means to turbo an engine with 10.5:1 CR, but if you did actually do it the fuel tune would have to be rock solid (by that i mean practically perfect) and you would have to run the highest octane pump gas you could find at all times.

what he said and you got too retart the spark a whole bunch because if you detonate the motor will be history

alright, so what do yall think I should do, should I go with higher compression and do all motor...or should i go the turbo route?

it all depends on all u want. do u want dat sweet sound of da blow off valve when u shift, or do u want to hear your motor roar hella loud as u smash down da street? dats how i c it.
