Microsoft Rant...
lol, no it doesn't have that. Oh well...haha.
I pretty much agree with everything you just said. Except I do know that there are a few times I have lost games because I spawned right infront of a bad guy. I remember blood gultch was all, get the snipers and rockets and camp. You can take out any vehichles and just sit far away. Which was easy. I pretty experienced when it comes to strategy with maps. Back when the first socom was out my clan was ranked 2 on gamebattles. And I played with the 1st randed clan on socom2. Halo has a lot of luck from my experience.
Halo is abouit just having fun. I agree.

lol dont get me wrong, it can be challenging if you are one of those strategic type of players, and i CAN see why it is played in competetions. BUT actually yesterday i was getting pissed because everytime i would die i would spawn right next to the other team. lol it pisses me off but i still enjoy it lol
Ok, knock it off with the bashing of the Halo games. Really come on, it's not like people decide to say so much bad crap about it and how it shouldn't get such hype because it is such a bad game. If itis such a BAD game then why have they sold so many copies of all three games. Then going out and making a special edition of the 360, controllers, and other 360 accessories? The controls for the game are not that hard to comprehend and learn to play with. If you can't seem to be able to play with the controls that the game has to use then don't touch the game or possibly the system since other games use the same designs to move around and shoot.
It is retarded at best when people are going to say that these games are going to be the Halo killer and going to knock it down off the charts. People are still going to play the game no matter which game comes out. It's like when people said and still do say that Gears of War is better then the Halo games, but in reality the game lacks much of a story line. Gears of War couldn't even get close to even beating Halo. The online multiplayer lacks in to many ways to say. You can't join in as a party, when you want to play with your friends you have to talk in a private chat room and say which room you are going into and hope your friend gets the right one to play with each other.
They took off the Auto-aim on Halo 3 so that it would make it a little more difficult for people and have people practice their skills a bit more. The new maps do have some issues and lack a few things but they are still fun and enjoyable to play on. It is a lot of fun and my friends have a lot of fun getting together and playing all night. They changed quiet a bit with the new Halo, like Forge and Theater. Those are some nice add ons for the game. Not only that but the achievement points that you get during the game let you feel like you have accomplished something other then just saying I did that once and not have anything to really show for it.
The PS3 does havea lot ofpower in it, but no one can use all of it. I own a 360 and a Wii. I do plan later on to get a PS3, but that is when it can come out with more then 3 games that are even interesting to play and more PS3 exclusive games that are worth the money I would be spending to get them. There is a reason why Xbox 360 and the Wii didn't add any HD player to the console itself. They knew that it would up the price of the system and people would think twice about buying it. Xbox had a good idea to just put an add-on HD player that can be attached to the 360.
Here is a a nice cheap HD player from Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1158323325814
Compare that to the Xbox 360 HD player http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802558
Sorry to sound like an *** lately, but I get tired of people deciding to say crap about Halo just because they don't like it when it has done so well and continues to do well. There are other great games out there like COD that are wonderful and I have been playing those since the first COD.

1.) Halo is one of the finest FPS games ever developed. Is Halo 3 the best? Not at all, but it is one of the all time greatest in the FPS world.
2.) Halo was the first FPS to really create a game that made you want to play it as much for the story as for the killing. Other FPS games were predominantly just shoot em up gore fests. Yes, some had stories, but not as deep or advanced as Halo. It's a great game and the series is something I'd like to continue to enjoy on PC, if Microsucks would stop b.s.ing around and release it for PC.
3.) The whole Blu-Ray/HD-DVD arguement is stupid. The reality is that the average DVD doesnt hold enough data for today's advanced games. Blu-Ray can manage between 25-50gb of data storage on a disc. HD-DVD can do about 15-30gb. Both are improvements over the meager 4.7-9.4gb of the standard DVD. At the end of the day, its more about making games that are both high end and have tons of content. With the DVD format, you are regulated to choosing one over the other.
Case in point: Gears of War is a fantastically done game, but it was both short and fairly easy once you learned the controls. This was due to the fact that they couldnt cram any more data on the disc. Now imagine had Xbox used an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disc.....we might have a game that was as long as say Final Fantasy or Resistance: Fall of Man(PS3). Bottom line, I love the fact that Sony is pushing the market to change. Remember, the Sony Playstation was the first cd/dvd-rom only based console. Sega CD did have a cd only function, but it was not a stand alone system.
4.) Everyone is complaining about the cost of the PS3, yet I've seen nothing but whining about the HDMI port, the upgraded harddrive sizes, etc about the Xbox 360. It's pretty sad that that slightly more expensive system had everything the Xbox 360 Elite has, but it had it from release. The only "upgrade" the PS3 has received was a larger harddrive. So, is having to replace your system for something like an HDMI port or a better heatsink worth it? Not in my opinion. Furthermore, if you compare the price of two EQUAL systems for the PS3 and Xbox 360 Elite, they're the same price......
5.) Microsoft absolutely rushed the 360. Roughly 45% of the systems that have gone out have been returned for repairs or replacements due to shoddy equipment, damage, or plain and simple failure. Not to mention, the fact that virtually everything in the Xbox 360 can be bought off the shelf at a PC component store. So how can you have this many issues with a system that is basically a Dell computer in a Microsucks case?
6.) The PS3 game releases are on schedule with the same pattern that the 360 had. At release, the 360 had a bunch of average titles, and 3-5 decent or great titles. The PS3 debuted with roughly the same setup a year later. By year 1, the 360 had several good/great titles and a ton of average ones. By year 1, the PS3 is now releasing roughly 80 some odd titles within the next 4 months...including close to 2 dozen FPS games and several RPG/Action games....to include Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. So while each console has its fanboys, both systems are following pretty much the same pattern of game releases. Other then Forza, Gears of War, and the Halo series, the 360 doesnt currently have any ground breaking, I have just got to steal from the store games.
7.) The PS3 does suffer from programming issues, but its not because of the software. It's simply NEW technology. The 360 is an average computer like the one I'm using to type this. The PS3 on the other hand is using a revolutionary processor design which is making programmers actually work instead of slap something together. Once the programmers actually realize how good the CPU is on the PS3, things will change. I dont know how many of you remember the Neo-Geo system, but it was ground breaking in its day, but never caught on as a console due to its price. However, it had better graphics and gameplay then the Nintendo or Sega at the time.
8.) The major reason the Xbox has stayed afloat is due to two things: Microsoft's money and Xbox Live. The simple fact is this, Microsoft is one of the absolute richest companies in the world. They bought Halo, they didnt even create it. Halo was a PC game that was reconfigured for the Xbox. Xbox Live is the console's version of what PC gamers have had for years, online multiplayer. Quite honestly, its one of the best ideas for consoles, and if Microsoft really wanted to make some serious cash....they'd offer it to all the consoles, not just the Xbox. That truly is the biggest advantage the Xbox has over the Playstation. Sony simply has no response for it.

I forgot to add.....Duke Nukem and 007 Golden Eye were essentially the very first FPS games to make it to a console. Goldeneye was especially popular on the Nintento 64.
Some of the very first FPS games were horrible 2D graphics that today would be laughed at, but games like Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, and Heretic created the FPS craze we have today.

well first...I'm going to say it for the last time. I never said that halo is a bad game. I said its overrated. Two totally different things. I think its a good game. I don't think its worth remaking the whole freakin system, standing out at night, hours of air time on tv, etc.
Halo 3 still does have aim assist btw. I don't know what game you are playing but the last time I played(a week ago) it had aim assist. The only time it doesn't have aim assist that I know of is when you are out of scope using a sniper. Thats why no scopes are hard. Possibly when you are using rockets too.
Saying Halo 3 is the best FPS ever is not a fact. Its an opinion. Counter Strike is a 10 year old game. Made in 1997 and still, tons and tons of people play. They have just patched the game. I'm not saying that Counter Strike is the best FPS but...I don't really think that halo is anywhere near the best FPS ever made. Just for the fact that its just for fun and shouldn't be played too competitively. Just because it has aim assist.
The PS3 does have a lot of power. A lot of it isn't being used. But don't say it can never be used. It just takes testing.

oh, and I wanted to mention to neon03se. with the spawning that you were talking about. Thats one of the things I was talking about that makes halo just lucky sometimes you know? They had several points that wasn't your teams fault. I remember in Halo2 on lockout with 4 people we could stand in a certain spot and they would spawn by the lift.
Halo is so fun. I just think it shouldn't be competitive(competions). Halo is fun though.

you aren't listening bro. I know why they did it. Its kinda obvious. But I know people who had a 360 that was working great and bought that one. Halo 3 is good but dang...its not worth that. I don't think you really understand what "overrated" means. They are gave halo so much hype(ex: remaking the system). Please, tell me what Halo has over other games???
Disclaimer: Just incase you didn't see it in my other 134098 post. I'm not saying that halo is bad but overrated.

that game got me interested in FPS's
