Control arm bushings
#14
I have been wondering about this since I haven't done it yet. If the price isn't too bad, I will probably just be taking it somewhere then, lol

...hahaha, this brings back some laughs
i did mine a while ago. in the process of doing it, i actually got so mad and frustrated, i felt like setting the hole car on fire. so u're ok adionik. gotta tell u, for 40$ i would have go straitgh to the guy, but i don't think he had any idea what he was getting himself into.
any way, i got the red ones from modern, i have them for about six months, and they are great. a friend helped me(not to set the car on fire), two minds are better than one. so, if u have some idea of what u are doing, and have some help, i recommend getting them and doing it yourself. when we finished, i was really happy, and even happier now cause i saw they were worth it.
and yeah, i couldn't get them on without a press (and belive me, i tried really hard). but once i got them on the control arm, right, both of my control arms went back on really easy. good luck

Ya press > no press
But if you really don't have access to a press you burn the old bushing out with a torch, cut the sleve(Do these bushings have metal sleves?) with the torch as well and if it's the sleved type you use anti-sieze, a block-o-wood and a really big hammer and pound those things in. if it's the unsleved type you clean the inside of the control arm out with a die grinder and a sanding wheel and make it shiney.
Use some lube to get it in I don't care if you use ky, but putting in a bushing without any form of lube(even if it's anti-seize) will mean disaster.
Trust me, I'm a Heavy duty mechanic, I've never done a neon control arm bushing but at least once a week I have to do a torque arm bushings/walking beam bushings or trifunctional bushings that are the size of your frigging head.
Makes me giggle when you say neon bushings are hard.
