you guys are crazy, and honestly have no idea of what's involved, It's not worth it, sell your car and buy a mtx neon. Go ahead get quotes before you say anything else.
Your right, I'm wrong. I've never pulled an engine before, or a transmission, or taken apart either ever in my life. I have no experience whatsoever with anything related to Neons and/or cars in general and I dont know what I'm talking about at all. You obviously know much more then anyone on this forum ever could.

Play nicely children. Anyway where would be a good place to get a decent price on an MTX transmission in good shape? And can the PCM from an 03-05 neon be used on an 00?

No, the PCM from a 03-05 cannot be used. you must have a 00-02 PCM.

I've swapped a MTX into an ATX 1st gen for less than $500 and about a full day. Never tried on a 2nd gen.

funny you say your dad is a mechanic yet you couldn't get your dome light down. Sorry but I'm just not going to lie to everyone. If you were to find a donor car for cheap and do the work yourself, it wouldn't be that bad. However doing it part by part and paying for labor would be crazy expencive. In that case, you could sell your car (7,000) or so save on parts and labor (5,000) give take, and find a nice old srt 12,000 or so. Kalevra I really don't think you'll be able to pull it off yourself judging by the questions you've asked in these forums.
