Default NEED YOUR OPINIONS AND ADVICE

Alright guysI just found out about a pretty good deal on an SRT. It is a blue 2004 with, 18in aftermarket wheels, a dvd in dash system. upgraded audio system. agp intercooler, new turboback exhaust, hks bov, professionally tuned, and custom gauges to monitor engine performance. The car is in really, really good condition and has about 40,000 miles on it. Well the owner is one of my friends friends lol. He wants 15,000 for it. He is also throwing in the mopar stage 2 upgrade which is new but not installed. and the stock downpipe yada yada yada. He also has a few other gauges he has yet to install but will throw in as well. The guy owns his own business and has several cars so this one is hardly ever driven.

Well likeI said in another post,I am an in debt college student but absolutely LOVE srt's as they are one of my dream cars.I work at lousy k-mart, but my friend tells me that i could do it. So beforeI jump in,I wanted to know what you guys thought of the price, whatI could get for my car possibly etc.

So any input good or bad please speak your mind here. It sounds like a great deal butI want as much advice asI can get. LikeI said, I work at K-mart and take home about 250-300 every two weeks. I know its bad but I am currently lookin for another job. More than likely, the insurance would be put in my mother's name. So come on guys what do you think!

Ok, here's my opinion. if I were you... IF you can pull of the payments and still live (I wouldnt care if I had to eat ramen for 3 years straight) I would get it. KBB it and see what it's worth (private or dealer cost) and then factor in the mods. by the sound of it, it sounds great.

just some food for thought... sounds like your credit may not be all that as you have to put it in your mom's name, so your intrest rate is gonna be a bit higher. being conservative and figuring a $15000 loan for 5 years (60 months) at 7% intrest, your monthly payment will be around $300. course all this is subject to your particular conditions. oh ya.. one more thing... at the end of your loan, if you make the minimum monthly payments, you will have given them over $2800 in intrest. sucks don't it?

sucks but thats the way it would have to be if i decided to do it. And I actually have really really good credit. I'm talking about insurance in my mom's name. Insurance has nothing to do with your credit score....

Come on people I know there are more of you reading!!

also if I were to get a loan with my mom as a co-signer, it would only help....

EDIT* i have never purchased a car on my own but have been told that I would be able to buy it in my name with the insurance in my mother's name, but with me on the policy. For all I know, that could not be true

Usually, if your a youngin' (anything under 25 so I am too...), the car will be in your name and one of your parents, and for cheaper insurence the insurence will be under your parents plan. So you can work out a deal to pay them if you REALLY want to be dependant and if they don't require you to. If you go under your parents insurence, it will save you like 600-800 dollars to be under your parents. But, the car WILL be yours as the title will have your signature on it.

That IS a smokin' deal on an SRT4. If you can sell your current Neon for say, $8000 then you can borrow $2000 to put with it and pick up this SRT at $9900 but if you're going to do it I'd be quick about it because at that price it won't be around for long.

Also, not to hi-jack the thread BUT, on the interior pic of the SRT it has some killer looking pedals, are those stock SRT4 pedals AND can I get em' from my local Dodge Dealer Parts Dept. ?
