What the... help?
Ok. so I was driving behind this slow *** B*tch going 38 in a 50 so I get the chance and I drop it down into 3rd gear (it's an ATX so yeah)
anyway... I GUN it as soon as I shift to pass them. I assume it droped into 2nd from 4th and it get to the top of the revs pretty quick and all of a sudden it seems like it hit the rev limiter and bounced 5-10 times before I back off. it bounced rather rapidly and it scared me thats how it bounced so much.
she seems to be alright and I tried to duplicate it but couldnt. but for some reason I think something's wrong.
no codes or anything. was it just the trans shifting into 2nd and reaching the top end so quickly that it couldnt cope with shifting up so soon after it shifting down that it just bounced off the limiter?

yeah I don't know then, i didn't think yours had a lot of miles on it. The four speeds I see around here, mostly in vans, like to dump out right around 90,000 miles. I'm not sure how long the neons usually last, they are lighter but have basically the same trans. The vans also like to drop the diff pin, it makes for some strange clunking noises and a jerky ride, haven't seen it in a neon though, but needless to say these transes don't have a great record.

not a bad idea, wish mine were a five speed. Didn't have a choice though I liked the green so I got an auto. I've got 4 more years of schooling so I won't be swapping any time soon. Not trying to offend anyone, but I couldn't stand being a mechanic for all my life, six years is enough for me, my body couldn't take it,gotta go to school.

lol, was it really that hard for you? damn. I have fun nomatter how hard it is. as long as I have the right tools I'd be good as gold.
I'm not that physically fit and I'm a pretty big guy. but I just love working on my car and others. so I'm sure I will drop all the weight I have because most likely I will be eating ramen and rice when I'm in school
