U need all the ingreadints to make power, it is kinda like making cookies, if u do not have flower they will taste like ****, and if u do not have butter it will taste like ****, or not enough or to much of one of the ingredieants it will not taste good.... alot like sprayin no2 or running a turbo or supercharger, if u have to much fuel u loose power, not a good enough spark... u loose power, and so on.....it is NOT just about fuel.... granted fuel is part of it, but a car with no sparkplugs in it wil not start, why?? becuase there is no spark to get the pistons moving.....so it is not all about JUST fuel, but a correct ratio (or combination) of them ALL to get more power out of an engine....

oh yeah,50 shot u would be safe, just dont get cought usin it or ur call will be inpounded....just a warning.....i will be running a 50-100 shot when i get my engine built with a turbo, but it willl take me a very long time to get it tuned properly.....

 

ok well my friend is selling me a wet kit, a purge kit, all the hookups needed, anlong with a bottle warmer for 600... sounds like a fair deal to me he had it in his camaro runnin a 100 shot and it ran fine.... but now he is sellin the maro and gettin rid of the nitrous... and thats where i come in thanks for all the advice

 

also i have an Apexi SAFC II, and an air/ fuel guage would it be wise to install these into it also to see if i am runnin to rich or if i am just right... ???????

 

not true. Pure oxygen will burn. that's why they tell people with oxygen tanks not to smoke and that's why the tanks on apollo 13 blew up, a spark set off the pure oxygen tank . either way. you need both air and fuel to make any kinda power. end of converstaion. you cant say that the fuel does it alone, like graphite said. air and no fuel = no combustion, fuel and no air = no combustion.

As far as oxygen being flammable... You need combustion to ignite it. So where do we go with this one? hehe

Ok since it seems like none of you actually know what you are talking about let me explain it. To the original poster, nitrous raises the octane level of the gas that you are running through the engine already when they mix in the combustion chamber. In effect less gas is needed but much more air to keep the air to fuel ratio the same. To allow this to happen most people especially when running large amounts of nitrous must retard the timing to allow the most amount of air into the combustion chamber before the spark. Now on your vehicle you have a distributerless ignition setup so you can't just turn the distributer. Oh and nitrous is far more violent than a turbo, its just cheaper. Now on your stock bottom end you could probably run a safe 5-7 psi of boost and net anywhere from 75-150 horsepower when properly tuned due to the extremely high compression ratio of the magnum sohc. If you want to spend the same amount of money and get a better and safer horsepower gain just buy a camshaft i think you would be much happier with that instead of nitrous.
