So that's the best that's around? I also plan on putting a turbo on my 2nd gen and I guess you gotta pay to play...
I would consdier it the best around...and yeah, if you want good stuff that performs amazingly, you pay for it.

or you can goto dodgepart.com and get the r/t intake manifold for $182 ? idk
I could be wrong, but I dont think that comes with the butterfly actuators or the motor to operate them...

The Magnum Intake Manifold has primary and secondary runners. The primary runners are always open no matter what RPM or throtle position your at...the secondary runners open from Idle-3200RPM and then from 5,000+ under WOT conditions.

In order to open/close the secondary runners in the Intake manifold there are butterfly satuators that open and close and that are powered by a small "motor". You'll also need two relays, lots of wiring, a TPS/WOT switch, and a RPM window switch for it to open/close at the correct RPM points (the R/T PCM would normally control this function).

Your looking at anohter $200-$300 for the butterflies, motor, and all the components to get it fully functional like the real thing...thats why used Magnum Intake Manifolds with the butterflies and motor sell for $250-$300+ on forums when they pop up...bare used Magnum Intake Manifolds out there sell for around $125-$150 though...

see with turbo I would not even worry about secoderies or butterflies. It really has no effect if the car is boosted just take the butterflies outcall it a day

why is it that the regular neons dont have these butterflies then? and would you really need them if it was turbo'ed?.... in all honesty someone really needs to make a direct fitting intake manifold.... b/c the fact that the indy says its direct fitbut in reality it is a pain in the @$$ to install then what good is it?

The regular Neons have a single runner plastic manifold.

Agreed. But its cheaper and some cases they conduct heat better (not perform betterthough)if they're made out of the correct composite material. Hell my parents 5.7 HEMI Magnum has a plastic composite intake manifold which I wasnt too happy to see...but oh well its not my car lol.

Cheap parts[&:]. I guess they call themselves reducing the costs.
