I was just curious what problems some of u have had on your 2nd gen. Neons. There was a thread like this some time ago. My list has definitely changed.

On my 00' Neon, I have close to close to 100k. Out of those miles, the problems that I've had are:

My trannys synchros went bad in certain gears. I ended up having my synchros redone. I was still having problems after getting them redone so I dropped my tranny off and it's currently being rebuilt.
My speedo broke several months ago. It just jumps around when I drive. It's still broken. I'll probably have to take it to the dealership b/c the one guy I had look at it couldn't tell me what was up.
Another problem that I've had was a broken shifter cable. This prevented me from going in reverse.
My reverse lights stopped working at another point in time so I had to get those fixed.
My clutch cable for my AC broke one time. This prevented my AC from working.

That's all the problems that I've had from what I can remember within those miles and years.

 

Well lets see...

Water pump went out and was replaced under warranty at 26k.
Thermostat has been replaced twice.
PS/AC belts replaced four times, Alternator belt twice.
Heater line burst and was replaced.
Drivers side CV-Joint replaced under warranty.
Ball-Joint needs to be replaced, just hasn't been.

That's about everything I think...

 

i only have ~14000 on my '05 and nothing's gone wrong yet *knock on wood*

 

The only problems so far is not having enuff money to do what I want to her. I need to get a tune up and new battery thats all for now.

 

well hello from puerto rico i recently bought a dodge neon 2002 le my problem is with the gas my panel marks my gas light all the time they changed the piece that goes in the tank but nothing i does not mark how much gas you have its always on empty i know my gasoline on my trip watch when it gets to 170 on my trip well the gas light flashes and rings any suggestions. and another things it trembles when i put on the ac and when i put the gear on reverse also trembles any suggestions please feel free to let me know

 

On my 01, it currently has 150k. I ot it used with 113k. so far i have had to change the alternator twice, the car doesn't start sometimes because of that corrosion stuff on the battery, weak idling due to the pressure steering switch (which i can't locate..and dodge charges too much). Over all, these are minor things.

my car has 101000 miles

 

I forgot that I had to replace my alternator. I believe that was caused by the AFX udp.

 

my 2001se got 82000, i own it for a year now, and in this time:
-one of those ice caps in the block was leaking, so i replaced it;
-after i emptied the cooling system for that, the thermostat broke like a month later, and replaced it;
-battery died on me a week ago, and got a new one;
-still a problem: week ideling, only when in drive, still dont know why
i'm doing a lot of maintenance on my car, so i don't really give it a chance to brake on me
