Default Won't start on hot days

My 2000 neon will not start on hot days...no crank, but I get power to dash. Ignition switch has been replaced. This problem only happens when the car sits in the sun on warm days. Problem started happening last fall...had no problems all winter. Now with the return of warm weather it is happening again. Any Ideas?

huh...interesting. Is there a possibility your battery needs cleaning or replaced?

battery, starter, starter relay all checked okay. I am thinking it may be the drive post between the key and switch is worn out. I am at wits end.

is it an auto tranny? if it is, put the car into neutral, then with foot on brake, try to start the car. if it starts, your tranny needs an adjustment for when its in park.

I had a acura integra that did the same thing. The problem was the fuel pump relay. After my brother fixed it the problem never came back.

fuel pump relay? hey meetch, thurn the key to the acc position right before the engine is supposed to crank. with your door open, you should here a high pitched whining noise. if you hear it, your fuel system relay and pump are working fine. if you dont, then start with the relay and work back to the fuel pump. its cheaper that way.
