I believe it is painted under them but, if will differ slighty from the rest of the car since it has never recieved any sun damage.

1more thing to keep in mind, there is glue thats on the paint in which you would need to get off..

Hey I just removed my door trim. The doors are fully painted. The trim comes off real easy. Get a heat gun or a hair drier, heat gun workes best also have a friend help one to heat the trim and one to pull. You want to get the trim warm to medium hot and then SLOWLY!!! peel it back from the front of the car to the rear. If it does not come off easly its not hot enough! You will need some goop off to remove the left over glue on the doors. Goop off is a laquer thinner so dont let it sit on the paint to long, have a bucket of soappy water. Just do one door at a time and you will be fine. then use a little rubbing compound and then wax. Need any more help drop me a line. Good luck with the project, just take your time.

A bottle of good-ol regular rubbing alcohol from the pharmacy (70% is fine) is a good overall glue remover from the paint, without melting the clearcoat away.

Yea I did mine on a hot sunny day which helps as well but, keep in mind the goof off stuff will hurt your paint if left on too long so be quick about getting that stuff off. Other than that wash and wax and u should be happpy!! Get some pics up when ur done. Hope u have an easier time getting em up than I have. LOL. (working on it guys)

Be cautious though some have been said to have fading issues(with outter paint being faded) and possible bubbling. But thats just on cars that are a decent ammount of years old...

Well none of our cars are exactly "new" anymore... if you go by model years, the "newest" one here is 4yrs old in model years lol.

I was thinking about taking my strips off, but the bubbling paint/flaking/fade etc etc issue makes me a bit cautious to try it.

what you do is you open up a free photobucket account at photobucket.com

then you upload the pics on your account.

Next, on this forum, you type

guess yer right about no Neon being new anymore!

...but if you want to paint with a broad brush... going by all the other posts about removing the trim... you can probably say "older" 2d Gens (00-02) would tend to more prone to problems with what's under those side pieces...than the "newer" 2nd Gens (03-05)

I removed mine one Summer day when it was about 70 degrees and had no problem. I have an 04 tho
