Synthetic motor oils
You can get a 5-qt jug of Mobil1 FS of just about any weight that you want for $22 at WalMart.
And as far as the oil comparisons... trust me, all of those companies use the same comparisons to claim they are the best. When it comes down to it, companies like AMSOil, RP, Mobil1, Pennzoil, Redline, Brad-Penn, etc etc... it really is splitting hairs. They are all good oils. Pick the proper weight, then pick your favorite company between those ones, and you will be fine.
I enjoy these oil discussion threads, but most people forget three things:
1. FS oils are all good for the most part, at least the ones I mentioned. Better than they used to be.
2. Your oil, no matter what, is ONLY as good as the filter that you are using with it.
3. The difference between the oils I mentioned is very, very slim in overall reliability and performance.

I do have some local stores that charge about $9 a quart for it. I have a site sponsor on another site which has it for a tad under $7 already, plus my discount, and the free shipping. So 6 quarts costs me about $34 or so...
Wal-Mart for Mobil1.
-I buy the 5q jug of Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 for $19 at Wally World. I'll go elsewhere for a decent filter. Either NAPA Gold, aka Wix, or Purolator Pure 1 filter for me. I don't bother with the K&N or Mobil 1 filters because I change every 3k.
