It also allowed me to save a bunch of space in the trunk.( I have kids and luggage space is a must) It also looks a little more custom as well.
I did think of it, but then I found the other enclosure on ebay. It doesn't take up too much space and it'll hide the wires and amps.

A system like your should not kill the battery in your car, i still have my original battery that is now 6 yrs old. Like what dustdevil33 said having a cap will help your amps on some of the bass notes. i can play my system for two hours at more then half power with out the car running. Also if you are worried about draining your battery completely while your car is not running, you will be able to tell that your battery is getting low when you no longer hear bass. As it takes more power to produce the lower notes. so when that happens to me i then turn my car on and let it run for a while.

Bump!, for unanswered questions.

I see that amps have an rms power and a max power. How do you acheive the max wattage out of an amp like this one?:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...16-PR4.50.html

As for the amplifier wiring kits when they say "dual 2 amp power kit 1000 watts" does that mean out of one single amp? or the total power of the two amps combined?
Like this one: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...cker+PKD4.html
Or should I get this kit instead since with both amps max power comined I would be about 1900 watts?

I am still going with the alpine type R sub and the alpine m500 monoblock amp along with a power acoustik 1200watt amp. Keep in mind I will rarely take the amps to their full power. The power acoustik will send 100watts to all 4 speakers = 400 watts and with the m500 amp I would probly give the sub 700 watts, which is a total of 1100.

And one last question, how bad would this system be killing my battery? with just a little above half the volume cranked up?

On a side note I will be buying the 6.5in component speakers and 6x9 speakers next week, both mtx audio.
I'm not 100% on this but I think that the RMS watts are what your amp constantly sends to your subs and your Max watts are what your amp CAN send to your amp when it needs it. For example really heavy bass hits. However your amp can't put out the max watts for very long. When your amp is putting out its RMS watts it usually sounds cleaner as well. Basically there isn't really any way to MAKE your amp put out its max watts all the time, it just does it when it needs to. Though turning up the gain should help, but too much and it will start to distort the sound.

As for the wiring kit, The dual amp wiring kit just means that there is a splitter in the kit like this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...11DBX30&tp=792 and i would say that the 1000 watts is the total power.
I would tell you to look at this page to find out what size cable you need: http://www.crutchfield.com/Learn/lea...uge_chart.html

PM me if you need something cleared up more.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. So now I know that I'm going with 4 gauge wire. Would you suggest a capacitor? I don't really think I would need one because of I will rarely blast the system, but would like some opinions.

I say no to a cap. Now if you have or getting a competition system them thats a different story. Hey did you ever get the sub box? You never posted up the link. I need one of those boxes also.
(My post count for this post is the year I was born 1977. LOL)

It went for more than I wanted to pay at the time.

You can send a message to the guy asking him to make a box to the specs of your sub(s). He will do it

It is the enclosure I'm going to get but 'm just not buying it now. I'm doing the speakers before I do the bass.
