I grabbed the Valvoline High Mileage because:
1. It is available in a 5 qt. jug in 5W-30.
2. It is a semi-syn blend (just an added bonus).
3. It is about the same price or cheaper than all of the regular oils.

Either way, whatever brand you pick, stick with it!

Valvoline Max Life is real good. Ive used it in my other car. You can start using it at 75k. So your starting at the right time. Here is there site so you can see the difference between there Max Life Synthetic and there Max Life.

loosing 1/2 quart every 3000 miles is pretty normal. high mileage oil is your call, but ive had alot of high mileage (over 150k) cars in my life and i never used anything special in them. i think its some marketing BS anyway. oil is oil.

For me with my other car. The high mile oils helped with the knocking sound and made the car feel smoother to start and drive. Thats why I used it.

is pennzoil any good ? and is that the rite weight for being at 67000 miles.
well sorry if i sound stupid but i dont really know much about oils and diff types.

can someone pin point me in the rite direction of which oil to use next or should i stick with pennzoil ? ?

If your car is running fine with it, you can stay with it. The way to how well an oil cleans of course is by the API rating on the back. I think my car had 10W30 in it when I bought it, but I switched to the recommended (preferred I guess) 5W30. For regular oil, almost any brand that has an API rating for your year or newer will be fine. I just happen to like Valvoline, Castrol, and even the SuperTech oil (relabled name brand oil) when it comes to plain dino oil.

No matter what you choose, keep staying with that brand oil. Switching brands of oils constantly isn't good.

I don't like regular penzoil cause it leaves that gunk on the bottom of the oil cap. And I figure since it is there its probally in the engine too. I do 10W30 since it is hot as heck here. I think 5W30 or 5W20 is reccomended up north. I agree with darthroush, don't switch back and forth, choose one and stick to it. My car origionally had valvoline and when I got it, I switched to castrol. Any manny, please tell me you aren't taking your car to walmart.
