Default 2001 Cooling system repair issue

I have a leak and have narrowed down my search to the hose leading out from under the filler cap - Thermostat. I got the hose off and now need to remove the old hose bib. I don't want to remove the intake manifold any suggestions as to a tool that would work in that tight space?

How are you supposed to remove it? Unbolt it? Unscrew it? Guess I'm asking how it is supposed to be removed to see if there is a tool that can be used.

its should just be a press in. see if you can fit some needle nose pliers in there and gently pull it out. if you can, take it to an auto parts store and see if they can match it up with a new one

Yes I know to remove it thanks, What I want to know is if there is any tool that exists that will reach in the tight space? Needle nose won't reach and there is no room to turn it. Also it is threaded so I can not pull it out.

Thanks

Get a pair of needle nose Vise-Grips, lock it on tight, and turn it?

the vice grip needle nose will work you need the extra long ones that have the 90 degree bend. that will work. if all else fails you may have to remove the intake manifold

Thanks for the help.

I tried the vise grips, got them on as tight as possible but they still just slipped. I drilled a hole threw it and used a screw driver to try and twist it but it was stuck in there and wouldn't budge. I put some WD-40 on the threads hoping that might loosen some of the corrosion so it will break loose. Anyone have any other suggestions?

WD-40 really isn't made to be a penetrating lube, it is a water displacement product (hence the W.D.). Do you have any PB Blaster around? I always keep a can handy as it has worked on things no other product has. Maybe pick up a can of that, spray it on there every couple of hours for a day to let it soak real good and try again with the vice grips or screwdriver and spray it down some more if need be. I'd say if the PB Blaster can't get it loose, you may just have to take the manifold off.

BTW, if Vice Grips slip, they can usually still be on there tighter. I had to use a pair to pull a 1/2" piece of a broken off bolt out of a block, and ended up using a large pair of adjustable plies to clamp the Vice Grips so they wouldn't slip.
