Put engine back in
Welllllll i put my engine back in, and when i fire it up it ticks like a lifter is ticking... and i figured ahhh maybe just need to let it run some oil back up to the lifters... and its sputtering but still yet it doesnt die... i figure this is normal, ive pulled my share of engines and while they do this they usually clear up after a couple of seconds and run fine...
well this time its not...
I pulled a code *** of course i cant remember what the code was now*** but it meant the voltage system is too low...
Sooo im wondering is it acting like this cause the alternator is not letting the plugs fire good.. which may cause the ticking? ive checked around and i dont see any harness plugs i missed... just some ground wires i havnt bolted back to the frame yet.
IF it helps, its not really sputtering... just kinda sounds like it is cammed to death.. the RPMs are jumping..... and if you let it run, sometimes the RPMs will all of a sudden rev to about 2 to 2 1/2g and then lower back down to idle...
any ideas would help.. as for now im off to try to find any plugs i missed.....again..

easy way to check if it is a lifter is pull the valve cover off and move move all the lifters up and down, they should not move, against the valve (no play in them) if so u have a lifter problem....
is the car jumpin rpms at idal? if so check ur iac valve ontop of the throttlebody....

def gotta check that... seems like the ticking has went away after a few times of starting the car so that was probably where it didnt have oil up in the head... i did change the head gasket and such..
but the idleing problem still there.. i found a wire on the harness that isnt plugged up... its behind the valve cover and its only one single wire.. the plug looks like it just slides onto a tab...
last time i had this problem was on my blue neon and the temp sensor wasnt plugged up on the side of the head.. but ive checked it several times... im just wondering what that little wire goes to... i cannot find a tab to push it on, its not a very long wire so youd think the spot it plugs to cant be far away.. any ideas?

the more that i ponder on this, im starting to think its out of time... its not really backfireing but yeah.. i dont know...i was damn sure that i checked my marks before i put the belt on... maybe the belts is stretched..... it is about 30k miles past due for a change
BOUT TIME!! i was wonderin where you were lol.. accually no, but i do know its directly behind the valve cover, its one single wire that branches off the harness, the wire itslef im pretty sure its green, and it looks like it just slides up on a flat tab... im soooo damn confused about that plug bro lol

this makes the second time i pulled this engine, cuase i had to replace the bellhousing and differential... but it ran just perfect when i put it back in... i just dont remember that wire at all, i dont even remember that wire being in the harnes..... dodge makes them christine cars, they repair themselves aparently and grow new wires haha
im still baffled haha. i really think its out of time... i was positive i set it right, but maybe my belt was stretched or my tensioner slipped and threw it off maybe 1 tooth... im starting to hate my car lol
